New Poll Shows Overwhelming Canadian Opposition To Becoming The 51st State

The Trump administration continues its rhetoric about Canada becoming the 51st American state, most recently with Secretary of State Marco Rubio defending the idea on Canadian soil. New data from the Angus Reid Institute shows that virtually all Canadians remain resolutely opposed to the idea – with the notable exception of a sizeable minority of Conservative voters.

Near unanimous hostility to joining the US among Canadians

“Suppose there was a referendum in Canada, and Canadians were to vote on whether this country should become part of the United States, would you vote…”

  • No, Canada should not join the US: 90%
  • Yes, Canada should join the US: 10%

The 10% who said yes are virtually all Conservative voters

Breaking down the hypothetical referendum results by the four major parties – the Green Party and the People’s Party were not included in the data set – you find that the idea of annexation is only popular among a minority (21%) of Conservative voters.

  • Liberal: No (98%) Yes (2%)
  • NDP: No (97%) Yes (3%)
  • Bloc: No (99%) Yes (1%)
  • Conservative: No (79%) Yes (21%)

Angus Reid challenges Kevin O’Leary to show proof for his claim that 50% of Canadians are interested in joining the US

“Shark Tank and Dragon’s Den personality Kevin O’Leary recently opined about the desire of Canadians to join the United States, stating that half of Canadians would be interested. We’d love to know where Mr. O’Leary is finding his data.”

Americans don’t love annexation, either

Angus Reid also polled US respondents on their feelings about annexation. It turns out that Trump’s professed goal of using “economic force” to annex Canada is only supported by 6% of Americans, while just 2% of Americans support a military invasion of their northern neighbour.

“And how do you feel about this idea of Canada joining the United States?”

  • I have no interest in seeing Canada join the United States: 60%
  • I’d be interested in Canada joining the United States but only if Canadians want to: 32%
  • I think the United States should annex Canada using political and economic pressure: 6%
  • I think the United States should annex Canada using military force: 2%

Even Trump supporters aren’t so keen on annexing Canada

When breaking down the American results by political support, you find that even Trump’s own supporters have very little support for annexing Canada through economic pressure or military force.

  • I have no interest in seeing Canada join the United States: 44%
  • I’d be interested in Canada joining the United States but only if Canadians want to: 42%
  • I think the United States should annex Canada using political and economic pressure: 12%
  • I think the United States should annex Canada using military force: 2%

  1. Trump is not interested in annexing Canada either. He is trolling us, and he is creating a multitude of distractions.

What if what, what Trump really wishes most for Canada is for us to be liberated from the globalists who robbed our country from under our noses?

Our country is now headed by a top tier WEF globalist banker. While Trump and Putin are trying to put a stop to the senseless conflict in Europe, Canada continues to fund and enable the war, and, under Mark Carney, is firmly aligning itself with EU globalist war mongers who are looking for ways to perpetuate the war indefinitely.

Canadians need to wake up an gain a more sophisticated understanding of world politics. Trump is not the enemy of Canada – the true enemies are much closer to home and they have been running the country unopposed for at least the past decade.
